Getting started
What is SUOOG?
SUOOG™ is Canada's local, AI-powered classifieds platform. Buyers and sellers connect directly — we don’t handle shipping or payments between users. Listings can be free or upgraded to paid tiers for longer visibility.
How do I create an account?
Click Log InCREATE ACCOUNT. Enter your name, email, password, and phone number. You’ll receive an email code to verify your address. After that, you can post listings and contact sellers.
Do I need to be in Canada to use SUOOG?
Yes. SUOOG is a Canada-only classifieds platform and listings must be for items located in Canada. All prices are in Canadian dollars.
Listings
How do I post a listing?
Click Post an Item in the top nav. Add a title, description, price, photos (up to 10), and location. Pick a tier (Standard or Extended) and submit. New listings are automatically screened (usually within seconds) before going live.
What items are prohibited?
SUOOG is a local classifieds platform for everyday goods. Illegal goods, weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, counterfeit or stolen items, live animals, recalled products, and regulated financial instruments are strictly prohibited — and every listing is automatically screened before it goes live. The complete list is in our Terms of Service §5. Listings that violate it are rejected, and repeat offenders are suspended.
What are the listing tiers?
  • Standard (Free): 30-day lifecycle, white card. Up to 5 truly-free listings per account — posts that include any paid add-on do NOT count toward this limit.
  • Extended — CAD $20.00: 45-day lifecycle, white card with PROMOTED badge, ranked above free listings.
Prices shown are the website prices and exclude tax. In the SUOOG apps the equivalent app-store price applies and already includes tax, so it may differ slightly.
If I upgrade my listing, do I keep the days remaining on the old tier?
No. Upgrading a listing to a higher tier (e.g. Standard → Extended) starts a fresh visibility window on the new tier — any days remaining on the previous tier are discarded. A pre-checkout warning popup explains this before you pay so there are no surprises.
  • Example: your free Standard listing has 10 days remaining. You upgrade to Extended. You now have a fresh 45 days starting today — not 10 + 45.
What are the listing add-ons?
  • Urgent Badge — CAD $1.00: Displays a red URGENT badge on your card in the feed and the listing detail page. Great for fast-sale items.
  • Shop Icon — CAD $3.00: Displays a small shop icon next to your price to signal a business listing. Builds buyer trust for repeat-shop sellers.
  • Website Link — CAD $5.00: Adds a VISIT WEBSITE button on your listing's detail page that directs buyers to your online store or product landing page.
  • 7-Day Auto-Bump — CAD $10.00: Instantly pushes your listing back to the top of the browse feed and displays a BUMPED badge for 7 full days. You can re-purchase another Auto-Bump only after the 7-day window ends.
Every add-on is available on free Standard listings as well as paid Extended listings. A listing with any paid add-on no longer counts toward your 5-free limit — so you can keep posting as long as you're using add-ons. Prices shown are the website prices and exclude tax; in the SUOOG apps the equivalent app-store price applies and already includes tax.
What happens to my listing once the 7-Day Auto-Bump ends?
The listing stays active until its tier’s visibility window ends — only the bump stops. During the 7-day window, the listing is automatically re-surfaced to the top of the feed once every 24 hours; after that, it just sits in its natural position. Bonus: a listing that has had a bump no longer counts against your 5-free post limit, even after the 7-day window ends — so you can keep it live as a free post without blocking yourself from posting other free listings. You can purchase another 7-Day Auto-Bump on the same listing as soon as the previous window has closed.
What happens after my listing expires?
Listings are automatically hidden once they reach their visibility window (30 / 45 days). You then have a 14-day grace period to restore them by paying for a new tier from your dashboard. After the grace period, the listing and all its photos are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
How does the AI search work?
Our search understands natural language — you can type "dining table under $500 in Toronto" and get relevant results even if those exact words aren’t in the listing title. Your query is processed against a pre-built, anonymized listing index that we refresh in the background. No chat history or personal data is sent anywhere — the AI ranking model only sees the public listing text.
Why was my listing rejected?
Every listing is automatically screened before going live. If it’s rejected you’ll receive an email explaining why — usually because it included contact details (a phone number, email, or website), a prohibited item, or a flagged photo. You can edit and resubmit at any time.
I edited my listing — why is it back to Pending?
Every edit you make to a listing — including edits that only add a paid add-on like Urgent Badge or Shop Icon — sends the listing back through moderation as Pending. This is intentional: it protects buyers from bait-and-switch edits after the original approval. The listing is hidden from the public feed until it is automatically re-screened and approved (usually within seconds). Your remaining visibility days are preserved across the edit — a listing with 28 days left will still have 28 days left after the re-review.
Account
How do I update my profile or address?
Go to Dashboard → Account Settings. Edit your name, address, city, province, and postal code, then click Save Profile.
How do I change my password?
Dashboard → Account Settings → Change Password. Enter your current password and your new password (minimum 8 characters), then click Update Password.
Do I get notified if my password is changed?
Yes. Every successful password change — whether via Account Settings or via the Forgot Password reset flow — triggers an automated security email to the address on file confirming the change. If you ever receive one without having changed your password, contact us immediately at contact@suoog.ca and reset your password again from the Forgot Password flow.
I forgot my password — how do I reset it?
Click Log InForgot Your Password? Enter your email and we’ll send a 6-digit reset code. Use it to set a new password.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Dashboard → Account Settings → Delete Account, type DELETE to confirm, and your profile, all of your listings, and every photo you’ve uploaded are permanently erased immediately — this cannot be undone. You can also email contact@suoog.ca from the address on your account if you prefer. Billing records are retained for 7 years (Canadian tax law) — Stripe invoices for website purchases, and the app store’s own receipt records for purchases made in the apps.
Verified seller (blue checkmark)
How do I get the blue verified checkmark?
From your Dashboard click GET VERIFIED. You’ll be charged a one-time fee — $5 CAD on this website, or the equivalent app-store price if you’re buying inside one of the SUOOG apps — then guided through a Stripe Identity check (government ID + selfie match). The Stripe Identity check is the same on every platform. As soon as Stripe approves the check, your blue checkmark appears on every listing you own — across search results, the listing detail page, and your Account Settings. Verification is a one-time process; you don’t have to do it again on subsequent listings.
What data does SUOOG store from verification?
Only the result: verified or not verified. Your government-ID document and selfie are processed by Stripe Identity in their own secure pipeline; SUOOG never sees the document and never stores a copy. See our Privacy Policy for the full data-handling description.
What if Stripe Identity can’t approve my ID?
You’ll be prompted to try again. After 3 failed attempts we stop the process and refund the fee, and your verification status is reset, so you can start over from scratch whenever you’re ready. If you paid on this website the refund goes back to your card automatically, with nothing for you to do. If you paid in an app, the app store holds that payment and we cannot refund it ourselves, so we email you a link to request the refund from the store. The system never charges you twice for the same in-progress verification — if you’ve already paid and your session timed out, you’ll always be returned to your existing Stripe Identity session, never billed a second time.
Can I lose my verified status?
Yes. We may revoke your blue checkmark at our discretion if we believe you’ve violated our Terms or attempted to abuse the verification process (for example, using a verified identity to defraud buyers). Revocation removes the badge from every listing you own but does not delete the listings themselves — they stay live without the verified mark. A revoked user can pay the verification fee again to re-verify from scratch by completing Stripe Identity again. Revocation does not trigger an automatic refund of the original verification fee.
Payments & invoices
How are payments processed?
It depends where you buy.
  • On this website, in any browser: payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS-compliant payment processor, and CININTIRIKS INC. is the merchant of record. Prices exclude tax; GST/HST is calculated from your billing address and added at checkout.
  • In the SUOOG apps (App Store, Google Play, Microsoft Store): payment is handled by that store’s own in-app purchase system and the store is the merchant of record. Each store sets its own price points, so an app price may differ slightly from the website price. Tax is handled by the store: Apple prices already include it, while the Microsoft Store adds GST/HST at checkout. The total on the store's payment screen is what you pay.
Either way, SUOOG never sees or stores your credit card details, and you are only charged when you buy a paid tier, an add-on, or identity verification. The optional Stripe Identity check itself runs on every platform, including inside the apps.
Where can I see my invoices?
Dashboard → INVOICES tab. You’ll see every payment with its date, amount and status. For website purchases there are also links to view the Stripe-hosted invoice and PDF, and we email you a copy after each successful payment. For purchases made inside a SUOOG app, the store issues the receipt — find it in your Apple, Google or Microsoft account’s purchase history.
Can I get a refund on a paid tier?
Paid tier and add-on fees are generally non-refundable once the listing is published, because the benefit (extra visibility, bump, badge, etc.) is delivered immediately. We may issue refunds at our discretion in specific cases: technical failure on our side that we can’t resolve within 7 days, a moderation rejection that we determine on review to be incorrect, duplicate charges, or anywhere Canadian consumer-protection law requires it. The identity-verification fee is refunded after 3 failed Stripe Identity attempts.

Where to ask depends on where you paid. For a purchase made on this website, email contact@suoog.ca with your invoice ID within 30 days of the charge. For a purchase made inside a SUOOG app, the app store took the payment and holds the funds, so the request has to go to them — reportaproblem.apple.com for the App Store, your order history in the Google Play Store for Android, or your Microsoft account order history for Windows. We are not able to refund a store purchase ourselves. Full policy in our Terms of Service §7.
What happens to my listing if a payment is refunded?
The listing is reconciled automatically based on what was billed in the refunded transaction:
  • Refund of a brand-new paid listing (you paid for Extended on day one): the listing and all its photos are permanently deleted. The listing only existed because of the payment, so refunding the payment removes it.
  • Refund of an upgrade (you originally posted free, then upgraded to a paid tier, then refunded): the listing reverts to a free Standard post and is restored to exactly the days remaining it had before the upgrade was bought — not a fresh 30-day window. We snapshot the pre-upgrade days at upgrade time so the refund returns the listing to its original state. Any paid add-ons billed in the same transaction are also removed.
  • Refund of an add-on only (Urgent Badge, Shop Icon, Website Link, 7-Day Auto-Bump): the add-on is removed from the listing and the listing itself stays live with its existing visibility window untouched.
  • 5-free cap is enforced strictly. If reverting a refunded listing to free would push your account above the 5-free post limit, the listing is permanently deleted instead of reverted. You still receive the refund; the listing simply can’t occupy a free slot when you already have five free listings.
  • Refund of identity verification (the blue checkmark): removes the badge from every listing you own. The listings themselves stay live without the verified mark. You can pay the verification fee again at any time to re-verify.
Safety
How do I contact a seller?
On any listing detail page, tap Text Seller to open your own messaging app with a pre-written note addressed to the seller, or click Reveal Phone Number to see their number. Either way you must be logged in with a verified phone number and your address on file — the same requirements as posting — which prevents bots and anonymous accounts from scraping users’ phone numbers.
Why am I told "you've revealed too many phone numbers"?
To protect sellers from contact-info scraping, each account can reveal up to 30 seller phone numbers per hourText Seller and Reveal Phone Number both count toward the same limit. This is well above any normal browsing pattern. If you genuinely need to contact more sellers, simply wait until the next hour and the counter resets automatically.
How do I report a suspicious listing?
Email contact@suoog.ca with the listing URL and a brief description of the issue. Our team reviews every report.
What payment methods are safe?
For peer-to-peer transactions we recommend cash or Interac e-Transfer, exchanged in person after inspecting the item. Never send money before meeting. See the full Safety Tips page for details.
